So my sis needed a digi cam for her Film and Video studies at NID. she did some study and we trickled down to sony went to the show room. it was first or second time I was using the cam and I did it pretty easily.. Pros about this cam: it has big 2.5’’ inch lcd.... u can see nice big preview. its fast: preview, shooting everthing. it has sharp and bright picture quality. u can see in low light too. Nice flash. fast interface navigation. fast data transfer. fast format. decent zoom 3x optical. 6x digital excellent video and sound quality. even in normal mode. high quality demands lots of space. cons: Expensive more zoom could have been an advantage. the same model is available in two options 5.1 megapixel and 7.1 megapixel. what I have seen is that one doent even need 5.1 quality for day today use. 3 megapix. is enough.. but one might need more details sometime so 5.1 comes in handy. if u go for 7.1 it wud rarely be used until in a profession whish demands something like that. I havent used 5.1 quality till now. since its an expensive camera dont go for grey. it costed me Rs. 16500 with proper bill and 3 yr guarantee. Being digital it could be a bad deal if things go wrong later. DO one thing buy Digi with bill but buy the memory chip in grey makes a lot of difference. memory chip costs a lot if buying with bill. and there no problems related to chip. buy a 512 MB chip in grey. Its an excellent camera. go for it. I used to believe SONY is unnecessarily expensive. now I know a Sony is worth the money its asking for.
