This small peice of Sony is truely a value for Money. I bought this cam in Dec, 06 and have clicked about 3, 000 pics till now. Camera has a real good picture quality, fine zoom and real good sensor. I never actually have to take care of the light availability, exact positioning and zooming. Its smart seson and macro does it all, you just need to adjust the optical zoom and it will automically sense the light to adjust flash(Off or log, mid, high), then it will do a digital zoom in-zoom out and adjust it’s zoom as per requirment.
I m not a professional phtographer but still I have clicked some really beautiful pics with cam. It’s compact, delicate(although it has dropped twice from my hand and just got a scrach). With this you just need to get a good memory stick, I have 1 GB stick. Once memory starts going low you can move to lower quality. Battery back is also good, best part is you don’t need to buy Duracell batteries everytime, it comes with a rechargeable battery, you just need a electric plug once in a day. Display is also very clear and big. It also have viewfinder, just in case your battery run low, you can switch to it.
The only limitation of this camera that I have seen so far is it just has 3X optical zoom which makes this camera not so good if you click far away pics. but still in the price range of this camera, this is simply the best.
Sony DSC W-50 it also good, same featurs, just difference of 1 MP of resolution.
