I have been using this camera since Jan 2007.
I purchased it in Agra for Rs 15, 000.I got 512 MB Memory stick and the carry case. The camera is simply an asset to me as photography is my hobby too.I miss one important addition as provided in the W5 model. The date is not printed when print comes out or even in the soft copies.Otherwise its a must have for a photo enthusiast.
The Zoom in and Out function is quite easy to use.It is quite light weight and outlook of the camera is impressive. All settings are easy to do.Even the video capturing is impressive. There are three modes for video capture. If one has less capacity memory stick they may go for the lowest mode in which they can capture 3 hours of video in just 512MB memory stick!!
Though the camera is 6 MP but even 2 MP photographs comes marvelous for 6/8 size photos. There is no need to spend few thousand bugs just to have more mega pixels as far as Sony Cyber Shot is concerned as these are largely related to the business strategy of all the companies.
This camera seems to be a pleasant upgrade from it`s W 5 model. W 5 was a bit bulky and handling too was not that impressive.
In W 30 the Zoom lever is just attached to the shutter ON switch.
The Multi burst Flash is useful in low light photographs.
The camera due to it`s superior Macro capability can be used as an effective document scanner. I use to make digital copies of all my important documents like the Important receipts, Marks sheets using this camera which save all photographs in a convenient JPEG format.
The Function Guide can be turned off once an user becomes familiar with it`s various functions, which makes more portion of the LCD available at our disposal.
The Battery life is amazing as I use multi burst option and still find several hundred flash photographs with single charge.
The Auto Focus function makes even a novice, at ease while taking photographs
The connectivity with my laptop is fast and file transfer is a breeze.
An additional cable provided makes it easy to connect the camera to my TV.
