Agood buy for an amateur...SonyDCR-DVD608E

I was fed up of using all sorts of still photo camera’s & wished to account friends / relatives as they walk; talk..etc to encompass all details in a Dvd for future viewing.

A comparitve look of various handycam / camcoder made me go for the SonyDCR-DVD608E.

Although it is an entry level model; what appealed to me is the handling & ease of use. The handycam fits snugly into your palm.

As you open the lens cover; the crystal clear LCD touch screen instructions jump into life making the overall photography easy & convenient. This solves the need to look trough the viewfinder which I always found discomforting.

The 0.8megapixel is ok for an amateur; whilst the 40x/2000x digital zoom is sufficient to record far away objects with commendable clarity & ambience.

The best feature of the handy cam as compared to most other brands is the STEADYSHOT.This actually enables the action to be fimed in perfect controll without a shaky look to the recording.Of course a tripod would solve the problem but all the good reason to have a stedy shot.

The nightshot plus really give wonderful dimension to photography in total darkness...specifically if you are filming in a forest/sanctuary.

The Dvd supplied are re writable& so are most functions on Auto / Manual mode to suit our needs while filming.

......While most goods things come expensive; I feel the product is a good buy for Inr 19k.

I wish along with the basic accessories the company has provided; they provide a memory stick for still photo & a carry  bag too.!

MY RECOMMENDATION:

If you are an amateur/ film only on occasions / parties / travel/ holidays..go for it ...do not be mislead by non branded lesser known cameras;now that Sony offers a 3 year warranty.
