Sony really knows how to make televisions. The review im wriring about is KV-DB29 which is a DRC model from Sony.
Sony is known for its TRINITRON televisions, which are also called Aperture grill invented by Sony long back. This is the reason for Sony tvs gr8 clarity and brightness.
DRC is also Sonys patent stands for Digital Reality Creation, which essentially converts analogue input to Digital signal.
This model from Sony rocks.
1) Its viewable area is around 28" Its std for CRT to have lesser viewable area than advertised.
2) Its DRC model and hence picture clarity is excellent
3) DRC has 2 features, which are DRC 100 and DRC Progressive. DRC 100 option provides 100Hz flicker free images reducing strain on the eyes. Very few tvs have this feature. DRC Progressive option gives progressive output, which reduces jerky videos. The difference of 100Hz can easily be noticed and is gr8 for the eye.
4) The TV id High Definition(HD) ready. It has option for 720p or 1080i.
5) Wega Gate menu system is easy and intutive to use.
6) It has a 5 band graphic equalizer, Speakers are good but not very gr8.
7) Wega theatre offers auto resizing to wide screen.
8) It has DUAL component input, 3 sets of composite inputs, 2 s-video inouts, 1 headphone jack, and one monitor output.
9) Last but not least, PICTURE QUALITY is EXCELLENT. Better than ne CRT or LCD or Plasma tv ive seen till now.
10) only downside is its slightly costly, but you pay for the quality!!!
