I got Sony DSC-T100 about an year ago, the time when 8.1 MP was considered to be new and unique. And from the very first moment I saw this camera, I was attracted to it looks initially but when I checked the details, I must say, I had no reason to say a No to purchase it.
This camera has all the unique features any digicam is supposed to have.Here are the following what I find good in it.
Sleek and slim - First and foremost, its sleekness will drive you crazy. Its very slim, handy and fits even in your pocket. Very easy to handle and less spacious.
Zoom- Carl Zeiss 5X Optical Zoom . I find the zoom of this digicam better than others because of two reasons,
a) zoom does not come out when you open the shutter, hence looks more sophisticated and precise.
b)it zoomes without a noise, smooth and fine. Now here, I might be controversial because I have not checked out every digicam in this series, but the other Canon, Sanyo products I have seen, they make a discreet sound while you zoom, which is a bit annoying. This does not.
MegaPixel- Ofcourse, 8.1 MP is a huge added advantage. It brings out the high resolution, perfect colours, sharpness and clarity of the pixels which becomes absolutely worth the moment you transfer it on to your laptop. The picture quality is really worth.
Multi Face Detection- This is a unique feature I saw for the first time in this cam. How so many people are in the frame, it spots out there faces and locks them, in a way you can literally see red frames in the eye. Makes you assured how many people are you gonna click and how clear. I like this feature.
Screen - The viewscreen is supposedly among its best feature . 3.0"2 LCD plus Screen makes it real easy to see the photos on the cam itself .
Double Anti Blur Solution- It lets you shoot in low light without flash.
Some other features I really appreciate about this are:-
1.In camera Red Eye Reduction- Reduces the extra red eye of the flash.
2.Memory Stick Duo Media Convenience- makes it real easy to transfer images and videos to your pc or laptop. Just take the memory stick out, put it in the adaptor and it serves as plug and play.
3.It has Movie Mode(s) too - MPEG VX Fine with Audio, where you can take a video of 20 min(with 1 GB Stick) at a stretch or in breaks. This feature also makes it worth coz at those special times when you feel like taking a video and you dont have a videocam nearby, it can atleast serve the purpose for that moment.
4.Diiferent Scenes mode for different moods, like - Beach, Fireworks, High Speed Shutter, High Sensitivity, Landscape, Snow, Soft.
5.It is provided with NP-BG1 rechargeable battery, BC-CSG battery charger, A/V and USB multi-connector cables. The battery charger is also very small, and easy to carry.
6.Available in differnt colours too.
However, a night vision facility would have completed the cam.
Still, I find this camera to be the best in the segment, very easy to carry all the times in your pocket and a definite gadget for anybody who loves to shoot. Very sophisticated, eye catchy and smart.
