This is an update: Apparently this was only a temporary fix. I tried watching a DVD last night and it started acting up again. I figured the only difference from earlier in the day was that I had been running it with out the cover on. So I pulled the cover off and turned a fan onto it. After a few minutes of cooling it began working again. So this may be a heat issue, Im gonna try installing some PC case fans and making some vents in the case. Will post results later.

Great till it started acting up after about 2 years of use. DVDs would freeze, skip, restart, etc, came online to find some answers. After reading a review that turning the display (dimmer) off helped, I decided to check it out. Turning off the display (dimmer) did nothing. However I messed with the setup and have found that the problem goes away with the right settings. With NO DVD in press the Display button: (you can do this from the remote or at the unit, but can not have a DVD in the tray)
Set the Video EQ to Standard
Digital Video Enhancer = Off
Advance = Off
Next option is the Setup:
Auto Play = Off
Dimmer = Bright
Pause = Auto
Playback Memory = Off
Track Selector = Auto
I think the main problem is the Video EQ and the Digital Video Enhancer, however I gave the rest of my settings to show how I have mine setup and working without problems.
Please send me your results at tazaman98@yahoo.com ... I would like to know if this fix does or does not work for others.
