Never even think to buy a Sony Ericsson Phone

The legal notice I gave to Sony Ericsson is self explanatory.

Never even think of buying a Sony Ericsson product if you want to avoid the following.

My legal notice has been forwarded by Core Centre (Consumer Online Resource & Empowerment Centre), Supported by: Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India, Managed by: Consumer Coordination Council (CCC), Delhi to Sony Ericsson, but they have not solved my case till date.

If you ever happen to buy one and have similar problems with it please contact https://core.nic.in or complaints@core.nic.in for guidance on how get your refund.

All Indian should unite to throw this foreign company out of India by never purchasing any of its products during your lifetime, as I have taken a similar vow.

Just totally bycott its products, like Gandhiji did with British products and liberated India. You should liberate India of such companies, who do not care about the buyers of its products.

My LEGAL NOTICE to Sony Ericsson

’’I purchased Sony Ericsson mobile handset Model No. J200i IMEI No. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx for Rs.xxxx, from M/S Miracle Marketing, Near Hotel Ashwin, Canada Corner, College Road Nashik - 422005 vide their Bill / Cash Memo No. xxx dated 18/01/2005 alongwith the warranty card of sony ericsson and box and original charger etc.

Within hours the handset started giving troubles / started malfunctioning which was duly reported to the seller who directed me to the service station of Sony Ericsson in Pune. The Sony Ericsson service station in Pune, M/S Accel ICIM, Shivajinagar, Pune 411005 (email: myservice@accelicim.com).

After examining the set the incharge of the service centre Pune acknowledged that there was something seriously wrong with the set which cannot be rectified and as such I will get a replacement after 2 weeks. I had therefore to buy another brand new set immediately and stopped using the Sony Ericsson handset. On 30/01/2005 my handset was replaced with Sr.No. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx alongwith the battery as per customer call slip call allocation no. xxx-xxx-xxx dated 31-01-2005 and gate pass no. xxx-xxx-x-xxx dated 30/01/2005.

The replaced handset again started giving me the same troubles almost every alternate day. After having failed to rectify the trouble the Pune Service Centre directed me to their Nashik service centre, (Technicom) Nova systems & services, 61-62, Vasant market, Canada Corner, Nasik – 422002.

The Incharge at Nashik Centre on 13/05/2005 sent the set for further repairs to Chennai and asked me to collect the handset after 3-4 weeks. Again the repaired set started giving the same trouble which they failed to rectify despite my repeated visits at Nashik as well as the Pune service centres.

As I could not use the handset for more than couple of days till date and had to buy another set within days of my buying the Sony Ericsson set. I hereby claim the full refund of Rs.5150 plus interest at the rate of 2% per month.

I had to stop using the phone immediately after purchase due to the following troubles/ malfunctioning as follows:

1) The Handset hanged almost everyday.

2) The Phone memory got reset every third day deleting all data stored in it including innumerable phonebook contacts and calendar entries which I had to re-enter in it for any possible further use.

3) There was disturbance during calls.

4) Periodically it gave me messages like ’’Insert SIM Card’’ with a SIM present in it and stopped working.

5) There was trouble with using features like the IR port.

6) There was always a constructional deficiency as the navigational joystick has never worked satisfactorily till date.

7) There were periodical problems in working of keys which led to malfunctioning of the handset.

8) The Battery is so weak that it barely lasts 18 hours for every full charge.

9) And several others. Etc.

In the meantime please let me know why I should not also claim for again and again filling around 200 phone no.s and calendar almost every alternate day to give a fair chance to use that Sony Ericsson handset.

Please acknowledge and advise within seven days treating this as a legal notice.’’

Please do try the phone if you want to go through a similar experience.
