HI friends,
Well I bought a SE J230i a few days ago and was really surprised by the product. I ve always been a Nokia fan and I also own a 6030.
The two phones though comparable have their own pros and cons.
Talking about J230i.
Looks:
The looks are the only compromising factor. Though not bad, but could ve been improved upon. The keypad with a orange backlight looks a little cheap.
Features:
The colour screen with 65 k colour display is fairly good for a non camera phone. The display is clear and easy on eyes.
Battery backup is also pretty good, though not comparable with Nokia, but fair enough for a normal user. However the instrument appears to be a little delicate so needs to be handled carefully.
The clarity of sound and signals is amazing and comparable with any other phone.
I ve always heard that SE phones are not user friendly but I didn’t find it like that. The handset is pretty user friendly and has easy menus. The xHTML browser is also pretty fast to work on.
The best feature is the FM radio with an amazing sound quality(its sony after all). Believe me friends, u should listen to it to believe it.
Though the speaker phone option and the loud speaker option for radio are very meek and better not to be used. The overall experience of the phone is deteriorated.
For a price of about three and a half thousand.. this one is a sure Value for Money.
An advice for all those who want to purchase a handset and are thinking of 6030, C168 and likes as option, do re evaluate ur alternatives.
The J230i from Sony Ericsson is a sure winner.
