I was more than a satisfied man in terms of using my K500i mobile handset. I used it almost 9 months before getting it uplifted from the dashboard of my car on 22nd of october, 2005. The style was good, reception was outstanding and photo quality in adequate light was much better than any other camera compared to even with Nokia 6600. protection of the lens with plastic cover indeed protects the lens from any kind of unwanted scratches. Capacity of the battery is satisfactory if of not the best among trendy handsets.
But I am apprehensive and bit skeptical (if only not in my handset only) about getting signal from the network service provider all the time and handling Interference with other signals, because often I used to get disconnected during conversation and there might be some problem with its Physical memory as well because during conversation the set suddenly stops functioning and reboots itself.
This functionality is certainly not a desirable one and irritates users.
Real Wonder is while I went to police station with my IMEI number after the phone was stolen they didn’t bother to take my diary. Though later on they have given a me a copy of FIR. On request Hutch has disabled my phone from using Hutch connection blacklisting my IMEI number to their network.
Surprisingly Airtel has not this technical capacity as stated by Airtel Customer Service ( is it for the New user, who definitely take Air tel as Hutch is useless for him!!!!!!). If police wants within one day they can catch the pickers and gangs tracing the IMEI number from the GSM service providers as they do keep a track of IMEI numbers during a outgoing phone call from a subscriber. On back tracing will it be problem????? But I am surprised to see their ignorance in this matter. What is TRAI doing???
Anyways, finally you will definitely love it, but gradually you will fall into love and surely not from the first day of your purchase. So go ahead.....and definitely you will not have the poor luck like me.
