Researching for almost a month and checking on d various phone arenas, I narrowed my choice to Sony Ericsson and Nokia. Nokia was my logical choice and was most impressed by a friend who bought it from India. It was sleek looking 6300 with silver colour, majestically wrapped in its cover. An absolute choice for biz man. In fact I asked my friend to get one during his next trip to India, phones take a long time to arrive in our tiny island of Mauritius.
My friend on his return and using for a week-had an awful experience with his phone, warms up uncomfortably after usage of 5 minutes, stuff getting deleted and all associated problems. he sold his 6300.
Well, I had now to start from ground zero. Checking with my friends n Mumbai and a lot of surfing on gsmarena/phonescoop/techtree/cnet/mouthshut, I narrowed my search to Ericsson.
Finally got one within my budget and my requirements-K550. I have been using this for d last 1 week, and I can safely recommend this to phone-buyers. Our friend CSSundar has got all d specs in his review, so w/o getting into specks, Ill vouch it for its comfort in use, looks, price. Its d perfetc VFM. Besides the reasonable price of Rs. 12k, it is very nice looking phone and in fact quite slim as well. The speaker phone is of top quality, ease of use is wonderfully simple. The most important part for me was d simplicity of downloading pics n music from my pc. The usb cable provided with d phone made it a breeze. For guys of 40+, not a computer geek, its indeed a pleasure.
D camera, Id add is average, pics ok and d editting on d phone is wonderful. Battery life is fair, although not as good as Nokia. But using d facility of camera/music/radio, etc. its a bit harsh to expect anything more. Really cant find any major faults with this one. Go ahead, if you are on the look out of replacing your existing cellphone.U wont regret it!
