Best in class

Before this phone I had Nokia 6630 for some days which gave me some really bad time, so after a while I got this cell last month in pune for about 12k.

And I really dont know where to start because its all praise for this cell.its that good.

The main reason I opted for this cell is the camera, its simply awsome.Pictures from it are no less than a full-fledged digicam.

And like all sony phones, this one is loaded with features up to the brink.Even though its comparatively so small. After my bulbous Nokia 6630, this little phone feels very nice, handy and easily pocketable.

Being an out and out camera phone, sony hasn’t missed a single feature of digital camera....including a superb xenon flash.

This flash I must say is of top quality like the camera. Its very bright and more than enough for a camera phone.Another interesting application of this flash is that it can be used as a normal torch-light.Very thoughtful indeed!

Besides flash, the camera is bestowed with novelties like Macro-mode, various shoot modes, self timer, 4 different effects etc.

Macro mode is just terrific, resulting in brilliant close-up pictures.

The camera lense is protected by a sliding cover. This cover when opened , automatically starts the camera application-very neat.Cover is easy to open even whan you are holding the phone in one hand.

Like a true digital camera, the K750i is designed to take pictures horizontally and not verically!

For this purpose, sony has given shutter button on the right hand side of the phone, boy am I impressed!

Now coming to the screen, It is ultrasharp with vivid colors, although somewhat small.Housing 176x220 pixels, the screen really feels small considering its camera capabilities.

Having said that, the screen more than makes for the small screen by being readable in even direct sunlight.

As for the keypad, I have mixed feelings about it.

The keys are well placed and large enough, however they are kind of hard to press. So obviously not very fast while typing a SMS.I missed my 6630 for the first time!

Besides camera, MP3 player is also very good, eliminating need for separate MP3 player.

All the functions of Walkman media player are present in K750i’s media player including ’mega bass’.

The headset is of top-notch quality, although the newer ’Walkman’ headsets sound better than these.

Thankfully walkman headsets fit to K750i.But they are costly affair!

Another thoughtful touch is a media player key on top left corner of the phone. This key enables you to resume last played song instantly, and it can be configured to change its working.

FM reception is very good, and radio comes wid patented RDS technology.

FM as usual needs headset to be plugged in.And the speaker is very loud and clear even for FM radio.

Connectivity options are a plenty-bluetooth, IR port, USB port.

Memory(phone) is of 40MB and external memory card can go upto 2GB. A 64MB card is included in the box.I installed about 15 JAVA games on it, and most of the internal as well as memory card is full, However I am still to experience slow-down in the performance.

Battery life is also very good, as experienced by me it lasted abt 2.5 to 3 days wid normal usage.

All in all K750i emerges as clear winner wid all the functions and then some more. With walkman series getting very popular, I would like to distinguish between W700i and K750i.

W700i is almost similar in looks to K750i except its color and slightly tweaked keypad.

However major difference between w700i and K750i is that, that K750i comes with ’autofocus’ camera, while W700i does not have ’autofocus’.And the K750i cannot be used as a stand alone MP3 player onlywitout SIM card, like W700i.And W700i has 256MB memory card as standard.

But believe me If you want a affordable camera phone and a best one at that, K750i is ’the’ phone to have! And at Rs.12000 its a steal.

Its Camera is phenomenol and takes pictures better than most of the nokia phones.Bye bye 6630!(comparison between N70 and K750i is done by mobileburn.com and gsmarena.com in which K750i wins comfortably)
