A Complete Phone

If you need a phone which is good looking, stylish, loaded with entertainment as well as business features, Sony Ericsson P1i is the answer.

I wanted to have a phone with touch screen, essentially because it looks "cool". However did not want to lose the convenient of having a key pad, well I just love typing SMS using one hand, and with touch screen that is out of question.

Sony Ericsson P1i was the answer, it is one of the few, if not the only one, with both touch screen and key pad. After all you do not always want to take out the stylus or can be accurate with nails.

And what an answer it is. More I use the product more I fall in love with it. It looks stylish, irrespective of your definition of style. It has all the features that you need in an entertainment phone, 3.2 MP camera with auto focus, MP3 Player with Walkman features and others (like bluetooth etc.)

it is also a smart phone with Symbian 9.1 OS, 3G Ready, Blackberry connectivity, office reader and writer etc. etc.

Well the I faced some problems while switching to this phone. Firstly becuase I have always used a Nokia and Secondly becuase this was my first touch screen phone. But also because some features which are not user friendly. For example, you cannot put the phone on speaker with one touch, gets very difficult when you are driving.

Other problems I have faced are, you cannot use the key pads for some functions. That is you cannot completely do away with stylus if you want. You cannot see message delivery report, at least I am yet to figure out. (you can go individually to each message and check, not sure if it works that way).

Also you cannot exit from an application, you can escape / go back and exit it later from task bar. Thats a little weird, and the applications keep on working at the back, may be affecting the performance of the phone (although not faced it).

One big problem I faced, the phone does not come with a detailed manual, so you learn as you use it. But it does come with a nice sleek pouch.

And yes its a bit slow, may because it does not have EDGE. But I think that is the case with all OS dependent phone.

So go for it  if you want to need business and fun in a stylish & compact package!
