I had bought Sony Ericsson mobile; model “P1i” last year on 16th August 08.The mobile’s cost was 17800Rs. After exact 1 year and 15 days the phone started giving trouble. The touch screen of the phone stopped working. As most of the functions of the phone were controlled by touch screen so I started having tough time to use it. On 2nd SEPTEMBER 2009 I went to Sony Ericsson’s authorized service center located in Dwarka sector-12, near Dominos pizza in Delhi.
There they first tried told me that touch screen of the phone would be changed so it would take 15 days and they gave me the budget of 1200Rs. So I deposited my phone with them. After 12 days I got a call from sony ericsson that the touch screen of the phone has been changed but its still not working so they need to send the phone in level 3 so they need my approval.
They also said that budget has also increased from 1200 to 1800 and it will take 1 more week. I gave my approval, as I had no other options. Now today on 25th September 2009 I went to service center to inquire about my phone than to be shocked I was told that the phone couldn’t be repaired because the touch screen of the phone is not available in service center so I can collect my phone after 10 more days and that also unrepaired phone. Now I have few questions
1) How can Sony Ericsson cheat their customer like this? I bought this phone @ 17800 Rs and after just 1 year company is telling that the phone cannot be repaired by even them because they don’t have the part. Than why did they manufactured such product which works for only 1 year and that also cannot be repaired though customer is ready to pay for it.
2) Now I cant even sell this phone because nobody would but a mobile which is not working properly and cannot be even repaired. So would sony ericsson would buy this phone from me as they are the one who manufactured a product which cannot be repaired.
3) After paying 17800Rs for their product can they just easily walk away because the phone is not in warranty?
4) If yes than does it means that the life of their product is just 1 year?
5) Why should we buy a good branded phone than? Shouldn’t we go for a Chinese one or the local one?
6) I have asked them to give in written that my phone cannot be repaired so that I can file a complain in consumer court because Sony ericsson cannot make fool of the customers
For others I just have to say" SONY ERICSSON SUCKS"
