Not FOR ME!!!

I love mobile phones and keep myself up to date with the latest release from nokia , sony ericsson, Motorola, Samsung etc. I own a Nokia handset?which I love because it is so user friendly and easy to use. My uncle came from Dubai and presented me with Sony Ericsson T100. I was actually very happy thinking I had a new cell. Even though I was not quite impressed with it when I checked it out on the net.

It was really cool in the beginning with its ads being aired on television. The cell phone was good in terms of looks. I really liked its sleek elegant look, it was a classy white phone. It was lightweight because it had a light battery. Its display was cool; it had blue light, which was not that common then .Its keypads were durable and had orange backlight which was really not common then. It had a scroller on one side, which was pretty useful once you get the hang of it.

Its volume and vibrator is O.K. It also has really fun games like ballpop, Yukon struggle (solitaire), naval fleet with which you can pass your time very easily. The feature that I really liked and used in this cell was its Messaging Facility. It is really fun to use as you can add smiley faces and pictures into the message without much hassle, you can even change font etc.

I started facing problems with the cell within the second week or so but most of them I figured out and overcame like for example the menu though it has everything you probably need under each of its options (menu consists of phone book, messages, call info, settings, extras, wap services & my shortcuts) is very confusing to use. Its main problem is that it has very weak reception like if I keep it in my purse its reception is completely gone so I always have to carry it in my hand.

I don?t know about others but I hate its keypads?they are so hard and whenever I press on it a second too long it gets jammed. Similarly even the screen gets stuck occasionally so I have to take the battery out to start it again. It has feature of CLI, picture editor, personal ringtomes which is fun in the beginning but I got bored of it. You cannot change its panel like nokia phones. This is a delicate phone and if you handle it rashly its looks are damaged. Its charger is different from the one I used for nokia and if you didn?t put it in properly it could break or wouldn?t charge. This phone is really frustrating to use.

To my dismay I also learnt that this cell originally costs RS 4000 it does not have any resale value. Now how could I sell my precious gift for RS1500 so I gifted it to my cousin and went back to my favorite NOKIA. This cell though cheap, modest looking, and well durable in its own way is very dissatisfying. Overall it is very disappointing and should be bought if you are willing to except certain flaws which other ericsson phones have improved on for eg the SE T68i & T200 are a marvelous phones.

Further, I wouldn?t recommend this cell to people who have butterfingers or are very absent minded because you will end up dropping it all the time.
