Just thought that I would provide a review on the Sony Ericsson T100 for all those who would like to go mobile but have a limited budget. I saw this neat, funky looking phone with a friend who has bought it recently and let me say that looks can be very deceptive. This phone at first look seems to be expensive but on the other hand, it comes at a very attractive price tag of about Rs. 5800/-. Good for people who want to go mobile for the first time. The Sony Ericsson T100 comes with a new look and is very pleasant to look at and is provided with a pleasant blue LCD display. The 4-level grey LCD display is good and clear and is provided with a wallpaper and standby mode.
The phone has all the basic features that are provided in any basic mobile phone. It has support for EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) Support and Group messaging. Apart from these, the phone has a melody and picture editor where you can create your ringtones and also create pictures that you can use as a wallpaper and also attach them to a caller profile to alert you as to who is calling. The melody and picture editor would surely keep you occupied for a long time. Basic Organizer and Stop Clock features are provided. The ringtones are sharp and clear. The menu system is similar to the traditional system provided in all Sony Ericsson phones and easy for novices to get a hang of.
The phone build is sturdy and provided with rubber lining grips at the sides which enables you to have a firm hold on the phone. But, one problem is the layout of the keypad. The keys are a little bit clumsy to handle and you might find it a little bit difficult to press the keys some times especially when you need to type in long messages on the phone. The position of the microphone too is different from the conventional type as it is provided on the top surface. I suppose it is because of this that sometimes the phone tends to give an echo while talking.
On the whole, keeping in view the price of the Sony Ericsson, its contemporary looks and light weight, its a good buy. And you can easily go for it and get a feel of going mobile before you shift to one of the expensive models. I assure you that it will surely turn a few heads in your direction.
