Hello! This is my first review here...and its on the SE-T230 Phone which I bought at around 23rd December, 2003. It basically is an entry level phone which replaces the older T200 cellphone. But it packs in quite a lot of features for its price! Its features are as follows:
Sound recorder
32-voice polyphonic ringtones
Ringtone composer
Games - embedded plus downloadable
Wallpaper
Predictive text
Multimedia messaging (MMS)
E-mail
WAP 1.2, GPRS
Connectivity: USB, RS232 cable
Optional plug-in camera-MCA-30
Picture phonebook
Vibtation alert
Dual band
Size: 101 x 44 x 19 mm
Weight: Around 83g<BB>
Talktime: up to 12 hours
Battery standby: 12 days
Ok, now for my experience with it...Well, the first set which I got had some sort of Network problem...It used to show just 2-3 signal bars outside and inside the house it rarely used to show any sign of signal strength i.e I could not send or receive SMS nor any calls were possible.
Also, it had some sort of a black dot on the centre of the screen.I took it to Salora where at first they said that my cell had no problem! It took me a while to give them a piece of my mind and then they replaced it with a new one...and its signal strength is excellent.
One thing which I dont like about it is the screen.Although it has 4096 colours like my friends Nokia 6610 phone, but it still looks a bit awkward. Its not that bright and is a bit grainy. Its ringtones are loud and can be heard easily but the SMS alert is short and can be missed(it cant be changed!).But it has MMS as well as Email facility and I can easily access my POP3 emails with it using my Airtel GPRS connection.
While holding, it feels as if one fall is enough to break it into pieces. But overall it really is a good phone but it requires gentle handling.
