I was on a lookout for a cheap color phone the first phone which came into my mind was a nokia 2600.Then I thought why shouldn’t I try something else.Nobobdy here had this phone and sony is considered a premium brand. I understood it is an upgraded version of t230

I fell in love with it at my first glance at it.I would like to mention some of the features

mms, sms, e-mail, voicemail, chat

polyphonic ringtones(more can be downloaded via gprs), composer, recording

several langauges

t9 ipredictive input software

color display (stn color display which is rather outdated compared to an lcd display)

themes , wallpapers, screen saver(there is only one and it does not show anything than time)

wap

gprs (reasonably fast)

external camera can be attached (dont ask me how)

speaker phone facility

games 2nos not bad will keep you entertained for few minutes

battery is good holds for 5-6 days

now I will write about some faults I am finding with this phone

The display is a bit pathetic pictures can often be blurred.

gprs is fast but often several websites cannot be loaded as response is too large to be displayed.the keypad is not very good. The keys are pretty hard and small(little bigger than a fat grain of rice) which makes typing rather inconvienient.Another major problem I find is that the software is simply pathetic. The phone is extremely slow. The software sometimes gets hanged while playing games.

The design , speakerphone and the gprs are the strongholds of t290i the poor

display, the hard keyboard, dim key lights and rather inconvienient to use menu are its weak point.BUt at the price of 3300 u can’t ask for more....
