Remember the old Devanand song "Main zindagi ka saath nibhatha chala gaya.". Fancy yourself in his place. Let this W200i also be with you. Nothing will seem out of place.
You get the idea of who this phone is intended for. It has been with me for over 5 months and it suits my life. Here is my take on it:
Build: Plastic. Decent build for this price. The glass(or transparent plastic) which covers the screen, however, looks very solid.
Looks: I am not very strong in this department, but most people find it ok.
Music: Now for the real Sony stuff. The speaker is loooooooud. I work in IT and people here have all sorts of phones. In any "head-on" with ANY other phone, this one clearly wins; even higher SE cousins. Just loudness though. The music doesnt sound as rich as any of the other SE Walkman series phone. Thankfully though, speakers dont rattle at high volumes. Put on the headphones(even the supplied ones) and this phone is all you need. It can take on any phone, any class, even its SE cousins. Rich music, with more than enough bass.
Radio: FM, though good, is not that loud as MP3 through the speakers; you would probably set the volume to its highest. Remember that you need to connect the supplied cable to listen to FM, though all phones need it.
Phone: Clarity is good. Speakerphone is nice. Headphone/mic is supplied and works well.
Camera: Dont bother. If you shoot an elephant with it, you can probably make out that it is an elephant - dont expect anything else from this 0.2MP thing.
Battery: Though I fancied myself as Devanand, it isnt so in my real life. No girlfriends to call. Living with my parents. Probably makes/takes 5-10 mins call every day. And some music. With these, a fully charged battery lasts a week! I pity my friends who buy gizmo phones, but require charging every alternate day.
Application support: I am no Java fan, but dont underestimate its perfirmance on this phone. I can check Gmail, see Google Earth/Map, get latest quotes from moneycontrol.com and there is the built-in news reader. Decent browsing experience for small webpages.
Connectivity: No bluetooth. With the supplied USB cable, it is instantly recognised as a external drive, or, actually two: a 28 MB phone memory and then your memory stick.
So guys - take life as it comes along. And have an SE W200i by your side.
