I happened to purchase a Sony Ericsson W580i mobile phone from Dombivli(Yash Emporium) on the 10th
Oct 2007. Its vendor in Mumbai is Salora. I am regretting my decision of buying this phone after using 6 Nokia phones without any issues
The following are shaky features found in this phone
1) When I am talking on the phone the caller cannot hear my voice but he is able to hear the surrounding noise amplified 100 times.
2) Sometimes the phone loses display. If you press any key in idle mode it doesnt bring up anything on the display. But all the functions are performed in background. So the solution for this is rebooting the phone.
3) It displays Inactive SIM sometimes. This SIM works fine in other phones
4) The earphone sometimes fails to give output sometimes. It does not ring in the earphones when in handsfree mode
5) Sometimes I am able to call a number but after call connection I am not able to hear from the other person.
I had been to Kaiser Electronics service centre in Thane. According to them they
updated the software.Another way of fooling you. After second visit they assured me of changing the board in the phone. After 8 days they handed me the phone without a SINGLE CHANGE.
Also during my second visit I had to be their guest for an hour as one of their employees had taken the phone with him for his personal use. I heard that this was going on for a week.
Now who is responsible if something happens to the phone during this time?
After contacting Salora, they ADVISED me to get the phone at their service centre. They assured me of gud service. This centre is 2 hrs away frm my place. The thane centre is half hour frm my place.
What is the use of this THANE service centre if its not of ne help to me. My phone is within warranty period. They have to replace my phone but they are not willing to.
I think a legal action is next what I can look ahead to
So much for now. Would keep you updated.
*Yesterday was my third visit to the service centre for submitting the phone once again. The WISE GUY from the service centre told me that the incoming call ringtone is not heard in the earphones for this model when on handsfree mode. What do I say on this now? They have kept the phone with them and told that its a MIC problem. Cmon if its a mic problem how come I get disturbance when wearing the handsfree too? I think these ppl need a bit of SERVICING themselves. Now if this is not done I am definltely going to the CONSUMER COURT:-). I need to put a full stop somewhere.During my last visit I met a guy at the service center who had the SAME MODEL with the SAME SET OF PROBLEMS:-)
