Last month I bought this Sony Ericsson W595. I did go to buy a Nokia phone but after doing rounds of 2-3 shops I went with this one on the shop’s recommendations.
The looks of this phone is something which will attract you and honestly that’s really good. The looks are bold and sturdy but the price for that looks is the weight of the phone which is "quite heavy" and that is uncomfortable some times.
The colours and the resolution are just awesome and I feel its the best for any mobile at this price range. This is again one of the most attractive features of the phone.
The "shake" and the other features are very innovative and you love to do it once or twice but that does not really help up with the usage but just to show off to your friends.Coming to the sound quality with the earphones it is just awesome and miles better that the Nokia counterparts.
The additional jack in the ear phone is very very good feature and really it helps when two persons wants to use it. You can even use the same to play using your sound box. Overall very good sound quality when I compare to its peers from Nokia.The youtube and google features are agin very very use full and the internet is also quite good. They are again the stand out features of the phone for which you would like to go for it.
Overall the software is user friendly but the number pads are not at all soft and finger touch but you have to really push them. I think Nokia stands out on this. The ease with which you can sms is not as good as you expect from a 12.6 K model.
The biggest problem with this set is the speed of the phone which is very very slow and very sluggish. My 2GB memory card is not even half full and the phone behaves like a pentium 1 processor. Really bad and it will really bother you a lot. This is the biggest problem with the phone.
All other features are standard and there are some good features like Music DJ and video DJ, Walk mate which are useful but not essential.
Overall I feel the sound quality, looks and the colour clarity of the phone are stand outs but the speed of the phone is a big big problem. Overall good buy at this price range compared to Nokia peers. I got the set for 12.6 K and at that price your expectations also are high.
