I purchased this phone about 15 days back. In fact, 2 numbers were purchased at the sametime.My friend also came with me and he was also impressed by the feature set and decided to go for the same phone.Initially I thought the battery back up was lower, but with two three recharges, the battery is holding up well. I am a minmal user ( 4, 5 calls a day, on some days only about 10, 15 calls). The battery holds for 5 days.Now to the sound. UNBELIEVABLE! It is so rich and vibrant ! This is my first experience with a walkman type phone and I was blown off my feet.The FM Radio is also good, but with only 1 FM Station in Trivandrum I am unable to vouch for Variety in this aspect.Call calrity is excellent and comparable with Nokia.The camera images are good though I am yet to transfer them to PC and take prints.
But I aexpect them to be good.My friend who purchased the same set had an issue with the charger as it was not charging and the battery was dead next day. We went back to the dealer and the set was promptly replaced. SE may take note of this aspect as I heard one more complaint on the same score of the same model.My GPRS connection is yet to be set up and is not working though I believe it is the issue with the service provider(BSNL) and not with the model though I keep wondering as the same worked flawlessly with my ealier SE K300i phone.Why I changed from my ealier k300i to this one was the measly VGA camera on k300i and no facility to transfer the images as neither the IR will work properly nor the DCU11 Cable will wok with my Windows 98 OS and the manufacturers will not ship Linux drivers.HOpe manufacurers include this in the CD.
For the features incleded in this phone (Camera, FM, media player, video player, expandable memory slot, 256MB card bundled) this is absolute value for money, you bet!GO FOR THIS PHONE FOLKS!NS SrikanthTRIVANDRUMUpdating it on 19th June 2007:
First, I did not need Linux drivers to connect this phone to my PC to transfer pictures ! It is mounted as an USB drive by usual Linuxcommands.After transferring the pictures, I found them to be of good printablequality. Though I have a grouse. The indoor photos have an yellowtinge on them when I used flash. And obviously the photos cannot becompared with photos taken with a digital camera (even a 3 MP one!)Still all the plus points beat the negatives mentioned into submission!NS SrikanthUpdating on July21st2007:One more sore point I noted.In Flight, I cannot use the camera without turning the phone on.That is, if the phone is started in the music only mode, I was unable to usethe camera to take snap of the lovely kid in my next seat. For this , I have to startthe phone in the normal mode.WHAT IS THIS ?
Can’t people in Sony Ericsson fix these small things even?What connection camera has with network being on?Also I was not able to listen to FM also in Music only mode.In music only mode, I can use it only as a walkman. I cannot use any other features.Organizer, calculator, nothing ...This is really pathetic from SONY...Hope people in SONY ERICSSON listen and correct the mistakesNS Srikanth
