Hi my brother brought a w710i recently...
Its really a nice phone with few draw backs, but I really like it...
Advantages...
1-Sport functions (of course)...
2-2MP camera although no AF but its a clamshell..
3-512 mb card..
4-The outer screen is just huge it displays some really useful information, like the first few lines of a new sms, callers name, the song title and artist when in the walkman, phone status whenwalkman is off, the signal and those small icons on that battery andsignal bar..
5-keys on the front cover which can play/pause, forward, backward (the key lock is very handy)
6-size, it fits in your hand!
7-The new UI is just great! default themes are awesome!!!! and the new font is a plus.
8-dual displays...
9-Complete set for doing exercise (arm band, Clip, earphone with hook)...
Disadvantages...
1-No walkman2 software (Walkman Version 1 Only)
2-Not really easy to get your card out (you need to take off the back cover which is a bit tricky )
3-the camera key is on the wrong side
4-the walkman lost its video link you have to access videos from the entertainment menu
5-the walkman button on the keypad is a bit too low to get to whereasthe internet button isn’t ..
6-no AF..
7-No zoom function in full quality setting...
8-poor earphones...(nice design but inferior wires)
Conclusion...
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Sport Features-Nokia 5500 sport
Walkman-W810i/W700i
I would prefer W810i instead of W710i Bcoz of the following things...
1-Value for money(1000rs Cheaper)
2-Best Camera(Auto Focus, Zoom, Flash Light)
3-Reliability (Candy bar is more reliable than Flip open type)
Finally if u decide to buy w710i, u can buy this phone with out any doubt...this phone is truly an excellent phone...
But if u consider VALUE FOR MONEY , go for w810i....
If sport feature is important to u do consider Nokia 5500 Sport as well...(It is a smart phone too...)
