I’ve had this phone for over a month now.. and had done a lotta reserach before I spent on it. Its very easy for me to go on and on about how good it is.. but my purpose of writing this is to give everyone a fair and unbiased idea of what this phone is all about.
MP3 Player: Lets not forget. This is primarily a music phone. And on that front. It scores big time. The interface to music player is fascinating and easy to use.. The sound quality is amazing. However. A nokia music phone has controls on the ear phones also.. so u dont have to take out the phone from ur pocket to skip tracks or increase or decrease the volume.. something that this phone lacks. All u guys at Sony.. please take note.
Design: Too good. No complaints on that. Looks good. Feels even better in your hand. I wish the camera lens was covered.. however the lens is burried deep into the body.. so its reasonably safe.
Functionality: Has everything that u can ask for in a phone.. good internet access. A fast OS. But I wont get into that. U can get the specification from any site. However.. I feel that the camera should’ve been given more pixel strength. Its a 2 MP camera.. and this is not really a complain.. just wishful thinking.. if it was like a 3 MP camera.. which u can get in phones for a similar price.. would’ve been the icing on the cake. The NO ZOOM factor is a bit of a let down as well.
Interface: The screen size is quite large. The clarity is phenomenal. Even the numbers that u key in.. or msgs that u write are in a very readable(large) size.. as compared to some of its nokia peers. The menu and phone OS as such feels very cool and user friendly. However. If this is your first Sony ericsson phone.. esp after a nokia.. the user interface might not feel that easy to use. Dont worry. Thats not really a short coming. It’ll take u a couple of days at the MAX.. and u’ll be fine.
One thing I would like to point out. The messaging is not as fast as it is in a nokia phone. If ur a messaging person.. it might slow u donw a lil. Dont take my word for it. But check this out before u buy this phone.
The PC suite is very nice.. Its very user friendly. It synchronizes ur phone book and calendar entries with ur outlook with a click.. something that u office goers might enjoy. I totally love that part.
Software Compatibility is not an issue. Whether its types of music formats.. or games.. or themes... This phone scores on all counts.
The battery back up is.. resonable.. Nothing too impressive. But it wont hold u back.
Final Verdict: Go ahead and buy this phone. U wont repent it. This phone MIGHT lack in its features in a few places.. but the good thing is.. whatever it packs in to its OS.. it can handle very well. The phone never hangs. The speed is quite nice.. Even if ur memory card is nearly full.
I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT.
