Here is my experience with Sony MHC-GZR5D...
On March 2011 I bought this ill fated system.First two weeks...there was no problem.But subsequently it developed problems.The problem was that while playing dvds or cds the unit would suddenly shut off with a burst sound and would restart again displaying the Message "PLEASE WAIT". Then it would be difficult to eject that dvd.We requested for Service.A service person from the Adayar branch came and inspected and we reproduced that scenario.Coolly he asked me to bring that unit to the service center in Adayar all by myself.
I immediately sent a mail to their Customer care. They immediately forwarded that mail to the Service center in Adayar.Again a person came, we reproduced that "PLEASE WAIT" scenario and he took it.Then after 2 weeks he bought the syetem and the service person claimed that he had replaced the entire board, lens etc.But when we tried the same scenario, the same bug happened. But that guy asked me to connect it to an UPS/Stabilizer and try again.When I tried it(without speaker)the unit seemed to work fine.Then the service person started explaining that this happens due to lack of constant power and blah blah.Then he asked me to use a suitable UPS/Stabilizer. After few weeks I tried using the system by connecting it to an UPS.But the same scenario occurred again. Now I registered a complaint stating that the unit was under warranty and I need a suitable replacement(not this same product again) or return the money.The customer care has taken my complaint and said that the matter will be looked into.I am awaiting a reply from their side.
I spent around 12700 in this stupid unit.It’s all waste.SONY PRODUCES ONLY JUNK PRODUCTS WHICH ARE IMPORTED FROM FOREIGN COUNTRIES.
Guys and Gals never ever buy sony products.
