I have very recently bought a playstation 2 and I have to say that they are worth the wait and the money. The games are just so much smoother to play with hardly any sharp edges in objects like trees. These are from my views only after playing it a few times seeming I haven’t had the console very long. Not only can you just play cd’s like the playstation you can also play DVD’s and you can also play your fantastic games over the internet.
The console itself from just looking at it you can see it a something special. You can either have it standing up, whereby you need to buy a stand for £9.99 but you will probably prefer it like this than lieing down like everyother console. The playstation 2 is black and everything else which comes with it is also black including memory cards and control pads. The playstation 2 games cd’s are purple which is a different colour to what I have seen before, which is good so you can not mix them up with your old playstation games. At a price of £199.99 I really do think people should buy it.
The graphics for the games are just the best I have seen, there is real depth in the picture and things do not seem to be that straight but more round. You get alot more shadow on objects which makes it look more realistic. Like in the game Fifa 2001 you can actually see the shadow of the stadium above, which is good because you can play in both light and dark. And in racing games just little things like the fumes coming out of the back just give it that extra effect. The people in the games are all rounded with no sharp edges which I think is needed to make a good game. One of the best fighting games out for the playstation 2 is tekken and this has to be the best fighting game I have played it has everything you want. It is really smooth with so many different camera angles not just the one.
If anybody is looking for a console at the moment this is the one to buy its brilliant!
