World Cup Charm has been taken..

This review is written keeping in mind the SET Max and SET channel.

Surprisingly this year World Cup rights were grabbed by SET team but they were not knowing that they are the wrong people to fit in the bill.

I must say the cricket mega event charm and pride is left far away by this channel. In comparison to ESPN-Star which are professionally managed sports group, this channel stands nowhere close to them. I did not like the following things about this channel as far this World Cup is related

  1. Technology:

a) If someone have noticed the opening match between South Africa and West Indies, there was no replay of any balls for the first five overs (surprisingly). b) The pathetic display and design of the scorecard which does not appeal at all. c) For a NO Ball, the camera is faced towards the batsmen ( I wonder what they understand about a NO BALL) d) Other things which are not worth mentioning.

  1. Commentators :

The commentators are those who have hardly played cricket on field. What is ’Exxtraa Innings’ ? Only Exxxtraa Celebrities. The calibre of commentators like Navjot Sidhu, Sunil Gavaskar, Harsha Bhogale, Geoffrey Boycott is surely missing.

The current commentators have no life in their voices (except Ravi Shastri and Tony Greig). The quality of their dressing, the ambience, the studios, the infrastructure etc. are nowhere comparable to professionals. I must they are not enough professional to handle mega-events like this. Surely the whole enthusiasm has been taken away from millions of people watching the most popular sports in India.
