Wega is the best (I am talking only about picture

I bought SONY WEGA tv 2 years ago , and I have no doubt in saying that it is one of the best decision I made in recent years. The picture quality , thanks to it DRC technology is superb. The sound matches the picure quality.

Picture Quality:

When I went to the showroom to buy the television, I already made up my mind that I will be buying a FLAT screen television. Though I am not fancied by the names the TV manufacturers give(almost all the names start flatn), I intended to give other TVs a glance before I try WEGA. I was astonished by the picture quality of SONY WEGA when compared with its competitors. Due to its DRC technology and one-of-its-kind Trinitron picture tube, Sony is way above other TVs in terms of Picture quality.

The TV itself is much heavier (around twice as heavier as other TVs). But I have no qualms when I am getting such a good deal in picture quality.

There are 3 modes of picture, soft, standard and dynamic modes. I prefer the soft mode, the latter two are much brighter.

The sound is apt for this model, it has 250w PMPO. And 3 sound output modes : Soft, Drama and Dynamic. These preset modes suit almost all kinds of programs.

But I do have certain complaints.

First of all , there is no mute-on-no-signal option. That means you still get that irritating SSSHHH...sound when there is no signal.

There is no swap-of-channels. All you have to do is manual tuning, which is painful at times.

The preset picture modes are too bright for eyes.

But overall, it is a great TV, if you can add a home theatre system to match its superior quality. After all . Its a SONY.
