Got this on may 2nd from flipkart
This phone may not have the features of a xiaomi phone which offers octa core processor
With 2 gb ram, etc but it’s got the Sony brand value which is important if you are looking for after purchase support.
Now coming to the phone,
Hardware : it’s got a decent mediatek 6732 64 bit cortex a53 quad core cpu with mali t760mp2 gpu this combo is good for medium range gaming because mali t760 is a capable gpu.
Display : the display is where this phone stands out.you can check out the gsmarena review, it easily beats it’s competition in terms of visibility and brightness. However, the resolution of 960X540 is somewhat below standard.
Software : the xperia ui is beautiful, the onscreen navigation and touch response is quite Amazing for a budget phone. It runs on the android kitkat os and will likely be updated to lollipop to make the better use of the 64 bit soc.The Sony media apps such as movies, album and Walkman gives you the best in class entertainment. This is what Sony phones are famous for.
Battery life : battery easily lasts a day and a half on normal usage but only one day on heavy use, like gaming or browsing it’s got a 2300mah non-removable battery which is okay.It lasted 1full day on WiFi and calls and a bit of gaming here and there.
Camera : good camera given that it is a 5mp shooter it becomes even better if shot in hdr, it even records 1080p Videos. front facing camera is a 2mp shooter, good enough for basic selfies and video chats. The rear camera does include a flash.
Performance and storage : Haven’t experienced any sort of lag and I get around 500mb of ram free. It is good for playing casual games.You get around 4.7 gb of internal storage and there is an option for expansion. Haven’t tested 4G network on this but it does support 4G network.there is no noise or distortion during calls.
Consider: yes, there are cons.there is no magnetometer and orientation sensors.but it does include light, proximity and accelerometer sensors.
I haven’t noticed any other con on this phone.
Verdict : Sony has done very well by launching a good product it competes with the likes of moto g 2nd Gen, Samsung core prime and xiaomi MI4i.If you’re a casual gamer, music lover, want 4G support and want a good phone in a budget, this one is for you.But if you are a heavy multitasker and have the patience of buying during flash sales, you can go for MI4i. I am very happy and satisfied with the e4g hope my brief review helps a prospective buyer.
