Hi I have previously used SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 and now using XPERIA Z. My review is based on experience with two high-end smart phones (Z & S3).
Reason for Selling S3 : Got bored of Samsung. Have been using Android for 4 years and that too all Samsung’s :/.
DEFINITELY THE BEST IN THE XPERIA FLAGSHIP :)
# Stay updated with the latest OS else you will suffer !
Pros :
1) I have about 100 apps ( built-in + downloaded) (including 3 - 700 mb games) and phone still works absolutely fine. So a very very big cheers for that \m/.
2) Screen Size is decent enough to watch movies/serials which I do daily.
3) Build Quality is very good. Its much much better than the cheap build of S3.
4) Looks are stunning. Simply flawless especially when your having a white one.
5) Excellent RAM . Games work like a cracker.
6) Screen Mirroring is a very exciting feature and should be useful if you have a high end TV. ( but I haven’t tested it)
7) Battery backup is almost like other high end phones ( which is infact good for a 2gb ram phone)
8) You can connect mouse/keyboard to the phone and can be used for chatting/texting ( I have used it - works fine). Though you cant play games / use apps with those. ( Feature is a feature. All depends on how we use it)
Cons :
1) Not as user friendly as S3. Samsung is very interactive which XPERIA lacks. ( Wont blame Z for this. Its Sony’s fault); like multi tasking while watching videos, Swipe for Call/Msg and many things.
The User Interface means a lot and can be improved.
2) Could have got a better screen.
Though it has BRAVIA ENGINE 2 , still lacks the something feels like missing. I compared screen of my friend’s s2 ( not s3) and Z and felt that SUPER AMOLED screen was little ahead of the BRAVIA .
# Overall video quality is very good !
3) The speaker location is bad.
It is placed in the middle of the phone rather than near the ear piece. So you need to put up high speaker volume to listen up the voices.
4) The music player: Shuffle mode gets DE-activated when I choose a song. If I pause a song then the player vanishes from the notification box. It has to be improved.
AND CANT ADJUST VOLUME when I am using some apps like news etc.
5) Screen wont work under water. You can shoot an ongoing video underwater but cant use the screen, Could have provided a camera button at least.
OVERALL ITS A VERY GOOD BUY WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A HIGH END PHONE.
