Sony Xperia Ad impressed me(especially the water proof design).
I chose SONY XPERIA Z1 COMPACT(COMPACT being small in size, seems handy to me).
I paid Rs30, 000/-($450) for this mobile in Nov 2014, though it is little expensive for me.
Just after an year of usage, charging flap(see pic attached for clear understanding) seal wore off.
I can’t close the flap from last year and I can’t get a spare seal from SONY outlets too.
So, my phone is no longer water proof from last year.Disappointed but got used to.
It kept working okay till last month.Then battery started swelling.CALL audio clarity reduced gradually and phone is dead now(not getting charged).
I took it to SONY AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER(Ameerpet-Elephant House-1st Floor).
His reply was’Z1 Compact-Service/Support discontinued from SONY’.
I said I would pay for the repair.It is just 2 year old high end model.Take time but I need AUTHORIZED people to do Servicing.
He said he can’t help.He is not even ready to take my Z1 COMPACT.But suggested me to take it to local/unauthorized mobile service shops.
I asked him a solution/repair from SONY end.He said SONY might offer me 20% discount on replacement of my mobile with another NEW SONY Mobile purchase, that too, if I call customer care and convince them so.
I didn’t get any help from SONY AUTHORIZED SERVICE center.
I really don’t understand this. Customer is ready to pay for repair and SONY can’t help.
I don’t wanna express my reaction or feelings, as one can empathize this situation.

Finally got back my Z1 from service centre after 3 months awaiting & so much follow up with service centre. Added invoice in review as can’t add image in comments.I was told that it is no longer water proof after the service, though flaps seal was replaced. Service guys say that mine is first Z1 compact to be serviced there, as they discontinued this model. I was charged Rs.2, 800/- for battery replacement and total service.
