Sony Xperia ZR - Born on October 2014 - Dead on September 2015
Damage Reason - Lollipop update crash & touch screen damage
I had a valid warranty till October 2015, hence took it to Sony service center.
Service center response - Xperia ZR cannot be repaired, it can only be replaced.
And this is not a free replacement, even though it is still under warranty, you will have to pay 50% of the mobile phone market price. That constituted to about 13, 000/- INR.
Point to note: At the same time I was getting Lenovo K3 Note for 9999/- and Moto G 3rd for 11, 999/- on Flipkart. Except the camera all other features are better than ZR in the above two models.
It’s high time Sony revisits its mobile phone prices. Although I was once a avid Sony fan, will never ever go for Sony after bitter experiences with Sony Vaio, Sony Bravia and recently Sony Xperia ZR. All my Sony devices are now useless.
