There r so many things I will put them down in a list below. This is not a Beach Resort, as the name says. Its about 5 minutes walk from a public beach, where you cannot go in the night.The official website says this resort is in Pondy, but its actually in Tamilnadu so you wont find any Bars, Liquor Shops or Petrol Bunks as the taxes are higher -We blocked a room over telephone and were told we need to pay only when we reach there. But on reaching there, they completely denied that we called and blocked the room.We were finally given a room which they called "Suite Room" which is worse than the worst lodge in Chennai. For 5000 Rs you pay for the suite room, you cannot even have a view of the sea.
The room was totally dirty, and full of dead cockroaches, food leftovers, someone had puked on the teapoy, floor full of sand n mud, Rooms are full of cockroaches, and we killed almost a dozen of them during our few hours stay in the room. Room service and housekeeping wont respond, if you call. You have to come down for each and every thing.In the night, they mis-inform the guests that they can go out to the nearby public beach, and as soon as you reach the beach, a police constable comes and creates ruckus trying to squeeze money out of you. When we tell the police constable we were told by the Hotel staff that we could come to beach in night, the hotel staff will deny this and say we went by ourselves. Definitely a tie-up between the constable and some staff in the hotel to share the bribe. Frequent power disruptions, an AC which is there only for namesake, a cable tv which goes off frequently.
The pictures & posters & signboards claim they have a swimming pool, but its still under construction. We demanded talking to the Manager / MD, and the reception staff denied giving us their phone numbers for all the above delights which this hotel offered us, we were made to pay them close to 5000 Rs for a night.
