I wanted a light album of good songs. So I relayed this to the PlanetM person. He gave me SOUND OF BOLLYWOOD-2. My first instinct was to reject it as I am not into film music(hindi). But surprise of surprises, reading the collection of songs given at the back, I immediately bought it. Given below is the list:
- Genda Phool- The haunting nasal voice of Rekha Bhardwaj is a superb beginning. This song is already popular so it needs no more praises.
2.Tennu Le- This song is my favourite. The new singer Omar Inayat has a voice quality that is so awesome, it makes you stop and litsen and rewind and litsen again and again.
3.Emosanal Attyachar-This song is a revolution by itself. Wierd voicees, but still it has got the applause from young and old alike.
4.Agre ka Ghagra-This is a song from Jai Veeru(don’t know when it came and went). The song is quite ear-catching and it gets to you after a few hearings.
5.Aloo Chaat- This song has the modern dance beats in it and the male voice gets a thumbs up.but same cannot be said about the female singer.
6.Aashuqui Aashiqui- By singer Mithoon. This song is strictly okay.
7.Khudaya Khair-This romantic song of Shah Rukh Khan takes you to another level.
8.Rehna tu-Have no words to describe this beautiful song, lyrics are awesome and the haunting voice of Rehmaan makes you fall in love with him.
9.Dhoondte Reh Jaoge- Sonu Nigam anyday, anytime, any album, any song.always good!
10.Duniya-You have to hear Amit Trivedi’s voice to know that a song can be soo addictive. This new singer I hope has a long way to go.
11.o.Saaya-This song is known to everybody, no need to guess why.the oscars, remember?
- Dil Gira-The picturisation of Statue of Liberty merged with Delhi’s background makes the song from Delhi 6 all the more attractive and makes you close your eyes and keep litsening it again and again.
13.Salma o Salma-After a long time Palash Sen’s voice is quite fresh to hear.
14.Jaon Kahan-By Rahat Fateh .needs no recommendation as he is an institution in himself.any song by him has to be 5 star quality.
15.Tu hi mera-Megha’s voice is quite fresh.hope we get to litsen to her more.
16.Pardesi-Last but not the least. This is one of the best songs of this album sung by Toshi, the ZeeTV music competition participant. He has a long way to go.
All in all my recommendation for this album is a must buy.
