Let's burst again!!!

Soundtrack: Get ready to burst!

I saw Soundtrack yesterday and it was a disturbing experience. Especially the part when the hero’s alter ego comes and chases him, and the part where he loses his hearing due to the occupational hazards of his profession.

But his manager Tango Charlie still doesn’t relent and urges him to continue making music. So, Rajeev Khandelwal, the neighborhood musical genius, goes all out to prove his mettle, but loses the plot to a mean boss, a meaner gf, and a not so nice situation to be in.

Since when did Indian movies become so bold to the point of being reckless? The highlight of the film was the scene with Anurag Kashyap in which the hero tries his level best to match upto the expectations of his profession, but falls short miserably.

The rigors of mainstream music are tactfully brought out in the movie. This is what it takes to make it in the music industry. Hordes of genius, plenty of booze, a dash of drugs, gfs, and of course insane pursuit of your goals!

Soha Ali Khan plays a deaf person with panache, and looks good doing so, how? So, our hero has his days of respite, but having reached his pinnacle, he stays a very short while at the peak of his career. Endless, reckless relationships later, heaps of cigarettes later, barrels of beer later, our musical aficionado finally meets his nemesis.

Some lives start with tearful endings! The movie is in the genre of reality cinema, and the director takes a hard look at the lives of our musical geniuses, their affections, their affectations, their reign over the populace, and their tearful and heartbreaking crashes!

Rajeev Khandelwal plays the rockstar with attitude and panache. The film is shot in local areas, making it a low budget movie. But the director gets his point across well. To be or not to be that is the question.
