Sparsh, as the name suggests, was a very touching story. It had no fancy jewellery showcasing as is the case of most of todays serials. Neither did it show case generations of life stories. Surprisingly, it didnt have the saas-bahu combination either.
Director: Ravi Rai
Actors
Mahesh Thakur: Anand
Divya Seth: Bhumika
Mrinal Kulkarni: Krishna
Kabir Sadanand: Krishna’s understanding younger brother
Irfan Khan: The humorous friend of Anand who always make one laugh and guides Anand. His character is very beautiful. Anyone around him would sense only happiness and understanding. He is the one who first sensed the growing relation between Anand and Krishna.
Sparsh revolves around three characters lost in love. Anand, the main character was in love with Bhoomika and married her. Their home, once upon a paradise, was named as Anand Bhoomi (Anand + Bhoomika). However, their relationship faltered and here comes Krishna, a young mature lady leaping ahead in academics. Anand gets to live near Krishna while she was away for her studies. They get together often and the relationship grew stronger. There is no I Love You confession but the feelings were obvious.
As the two gets closer and closer, Bhoomika senses the separation and goes into fits of rage thinking that she is losing her husband. On the other hand, Krishnas parents who are not sure about their daughters blooming love, looks for a right candidate for her. And there comes Mr. Right Candidate, who falls in love and the families look forward to marriage. Krishna doesnt approve of him but doesnt talk about her love either. Confusion lingers and the marriage date is set. To add to the confusion, Krishnas college boy friend, Aditya, drops in.
The story has been carried forward gracefully and Jagjit Singhs ghazals from Maraasim blend wells.
