I am a regular customer of Spencers Retail Lucknow. On specific days the store offers cashback and discounts on its purchases as per offers announced from time to time. Recently I purchased groceries, fruits, and vegetables etc and Rs 255 was credited as to my Spencers e-wallet which as per the offer was to be utilized on purchases of specific items by 31/01/2020. Only 10% of the bill for next purchases is allowed to be utilized . At the time of billing one has to ask for redemption of points through OTP . On feeding the OTP the cashback points can be availed.
I visited Spencers four times in the month of Jan 2020 . On two occasions OTP could not be sent to registered mobile number despite repeated trials by billing person, I was told that there was a server problem with the result I had yo pay the entire bill.
I lost more than 50% of the credit in the wallet in January 2020 which went unutilized for no fault on my part . I strongly feel that there should be mechanism in place to allow utilization from spencers e wallet in case of server problem or alternatively in such situations credit in wallet should be allowed to be carried forward.
