It is a pity that some mobile companies come out with such products which are only fit to fall into the category - Oonchi dukaan Feeka Pakwan
I bought this phone D-88 Gold on the recommendation of the shop attendant - obviously knowing that he wanted to make his sale, but I believed/trusted him that the phone was good. Now I know better having spent 8K on this.
I bought this phone at Alfa at Irla, Vile Parle (W) Bombay. I was told he sells products which are usually used/smuggled/unlocked/notified but they were the value for money.
Hence went there to buy a CDMA option replacing my wifes LG RD2030 model. RD2030 was sufficient for my wifes need except now she wanted to have a voice recorder and a camera.
Anyways, so this review is about the phone model...The handset looked handy, not too bulky and it had some features which I thought were okay to do with. Camera, Voice/FM recorder/USB storage and dual SIM
But realized now after reading here that the battery life is indeed short, and now I know why they give 2 batteries. I surely am having rapid discharge issues with the battery given to me.
My phone remains on CDMA standby for only about 48 hrs max with a talk time of only about 30 odd min. Not sure if this is specific battery problem or can this be taken up with the company to give free battery replacements for all those who are having this problem
My phone got discharged in 8 hrs when I first bought it and used it directly so as to drain the battery completely. Then I charged the battery expecting it to take 4-6 hrs to charge, but the battery is showing completely charged within 2 hours. then it discharges in about 48 hrs.
Not sure what will happen if I also use the GSM SIM in it. it might not even last this long. Will also try this option and update my notes here. But surely there is a problem with the battery also!!!
And the biggest problem is that the SMS feature of CDMA is not working properly. For whatever reason, my need was for the CDMA network and if the CDMA SMS itself does not work, whats the point in having this phone....
I have been stupid for not having come to this site earlier but I now also recommend that people come to this site - read reviews of what they want to buy, and only then decide on buying the product.I have had the phone for 5 days now.
I am going to keep a watch on this phone and their customer service quality for about 15 odd days before I take a call on this.I am hoping that this review and subsequent followup - of course at my own cost - will help me further to ensure such malpractices get noticed earlier.
Also, the quality of the website of this provider is not at all up to the standard. Their information content is limited and does not answer a lot of queries.I have eventually asked for one of the batteries to be replaced. I will update the review after I get the new battery tested.
