I had bought a spice dual sim mobile in chennai which appeared to be well built for its price. within 4 months of buying the mobile it developed a software problem. I had approached the service center and they fixed it for me in a week. the mobile worked well for a day. the next day the mobile went into hands free mode and would work only with earphones. the mobile would remain in hands free mode even after removing it. actually we had never used any hands free device with the phone.
this model used the same socket for recharging and for hands free device. we approached the service center for the second problem with the mobile. the guy informed us that they will send the mobile to the company and they would change the entire internal system. he promised me that he would do it free of cost and it would take 10 days. after 10 days we were informed that the mobile was ready and we have to pay rs 550/- as the defect was not to be covered under the warranty. I had no patience to argue it with the guys there and there was a big crowd in the service center. some of the people were almost going to thrash the personnel there. after an argument I decided to pay the charges. to our surprise the mobile was neither sent to the company nor repaired.
it was in the same condition as we gave them. we were made to sit there for 45 minutes and the mobile was repaired in front of us. the worst thing was the mobile developed the same problem the very next day. the entire mobile cost me rs 1600. I had spent rs 1200 for repairs and expenses towards travel to to the only service center for chennai. the mobile is now in my dustbin - its rightful place. it is a matter of shame that the service center personnel can bluff so balantly. they should be ashamed of themselves. its my advice to those planning to buy a spice mobile to think twice. buying this brand of mobile is the same as buying a china mobile without guarantee, at least you know that very well when u purchase. its a shame how the spice service center cheats people
