Me and my husband was supposed to travel from Bangalore to Kolkata in Spicejet flight SG521(PNR: YYEPUT) on 17th Dec 2014 and it got cancelled on 13th Dec 2014 for which we received a sms.
The ticket was booked on Oct 6th 2014 for Rs.11014.The sms said that we had to rebook and we rebooked on SG872 on 16th of Dec for a travel from Kolkata to Bangalore.
The flight SG872 was supposed to fly around 6.40 pm and we received yet another sms around 9.18am on 16th Dec saying the flight has been delayed by one hour.
We rescheduled our travel time from home and after reaching airport we found out that the flight has been cancelled. There was no explanation neither any alternate arrangements by the airline officials.
The officials simply ran away from us and were not available for any comments. Me and my husband waited in the airport from 4 pm-11 pm to get an alternate arrangements.
All we were said that we will get a refund of the booking amount for which we have not received any sms as of today 20.12.2014 against our cancellation on 16th of Dec.
Consequences: There were no tickets available on any other airlines. We checked in all the airport counters with other airlines. We had to travel back home all the way from airport.
It was a great anguish for us as well our parents who had accompanied us to drop for departure. It was mental as well as physical harassment.
We could book through internet later during late night of 16th of Dec 2014 an Air India flight AI-771 with Rs 27189(PNR: AI-JK454) which is Rs 16175 more than our booking amount of Rs 11014 booked on spicejet.
This excludes all our mental harassment, travel expenses for airport to home to and from, food and driver charges.
Please find attached the tickets for your reference would like Spicejet to pay me the difference in the airline booking charges of Rs 16175 and also petrol, food and mental harassment charges.
I strictly recommend to Avoid flying spicejet.
