Not so good experience for Mumbai- Kolkata- Bangkok and return. Spice jet is only OK for domestic travel within India. Never book for international. Low cost means low on service.
When you come from Bangkok to Mumbai with stop over at Kolkata, thru luggage check in does not happen. You need to collect baggage, do immigration, re check in baggage, security check all in 1.5 Hr. at pathetically slow kolkata airport.
While doing this there is no proper assistance from Spice Jet to help travelers to make it for Mumbai flight on time. There are long queues on limited spice jet counters when you arrive at domestic terminal of Kolkata after long walk from international arrival, collecting baggage. No one tells you that you need to re scan the baggage before check in. Re pack your duty free shopping in check in luggage as you cant carry it on domestic flight. Whole thing took real lot of time and spice jet staff did not seem to bother or help. Thanks to all other people in queue of security check who allowed us to jump to queue and we barely made it for Mumbai flight.
Another issue on board, is Its too congested to even move on your seats. On flight staff is not sufficient to serve passengers. You don’t even get water on time. All hot food is over by the time they reach you after over an hour starting’Jal pan seva’
Had I known this I would have never booked Spice Jet. Please be careful don’t go for this route. Book direct flight to Bangkok - Mumbai on some better airline.
