Being a business consultant, I am a frequent traveler and am perhaps the right person to write the review of an airline. Spicejet over the time has become one of the worst airlines to travel with especially with regard to on-time performance. Here is a brief summary of the three flights that I booked in the last one month with Spicejet (out of total 16 -17 ). One was between Vizag to Delhi (via hyderabad).
First the flght was delayed by an hour, after one hour, it was further delayed by an hour and a half. At the end they informed that the flight is cancelled. I was forced to stay at vizag for no reason as all the flght were booked (or too costly) by that time. Next day again the flight was delayed by around one and a half hour.
At the time this review is being written, I am sitting at the airport (Delhi Terminal 1D) when my flight to hyderabad has been already delayed by two hours. The specialty of spicejet is that they announce the delay or cancellation just 20-25 minutes before the departure so that most of the passengers have already taken the boarding pass and cleared the security and hence would not be willing to cancel flight. No wonder that, Kalanithi Maran who grew the media empire with full political support from Mr. M Karunanidhi will take some time learning how to run airlines.
Spicejet has been totally ruined ever since Mr. Maran has overtaken it. Its one thing to get media license through your uncle who is CM and another thing to run an airline.
