Horrible experience.Please stay away frm this airl

I had Spice Jet flight from Gorakhpur to Delhi on July 07, 2018.I really regret taking this Spice Jet flight from Gorakhpur, U.P. It was a horrible experience and I would never fly again with Spice Jet in my life. It starts with check-in of my baggage.


When reached to the counter, the Spice Jet staff(Mr.Aman) asked me to take my baggage to the other side and he needs to weigh it separately. Then he kept me waiting for at least 45 minutes. While waiting on the counter, I was witnessing How Mr. Aman and other staff were rude to other customers as well.


They were treated like if u want to fly, you need to obey them. Otherwise, you’ll be left behind. Even for small questions, they were getting frustrated and were responding to customers so arrogantly that customers were quite frightened. Spice Jet, you need to understand that most of the travelers who reach airport will be in a state that they have been delayed.


As a responsible service provider, you need to console them they need not worry .rather them scolding them why are they late and they will be left behind. There was one lady with a kid who wasn’t having any ID as still, she was so young to have any aadhar card or any form of ID.


And Mr. Aman was scolding like either you bring the ID or you’ll be barred to get inside the flight. After the Argument, station manager Mr. GK Singh arrived, and he was super rude as compare to Mr. Aman. Even Mr. GK Singh threatened that lady to throw out of the airport with the help of security personnel.


Dude, there are better ways to handle the situation, at least you can be calm and explain the rules politely. Why are you being so rude and arrogant? And then there were travelers with baggage having extra weights. At this point, Mr. Aman has his staff were showing their true face. They were bargaining customers to pay extra INR 2400 even if the weight is 1 KG extra. and then slowly they will lower the rate to 2000, then 1500, 1000 etc.


With one customer, they settled down for INR 500 only? Spice Jet, if you have a real rule and policy for baggage .then why are you negotiating with the price? Is this the way you loot customers? I’m flying for the last 10 years, and have never seen such kind of bargaining with luggage price at the airport. Every airline either they show some courtesy to allow the baggage or they charge some fixed price. They never negotiate. Then why some different rule at Gorakhpur station? Are these Spice Jet staff at Gorakhpur station getting some commission based on how much they have looted customers? There was one traveler who told clearly that rather he will throw the stuff rather than paying INR 2400 for them as they are worthy of very less.


And He started arranging his stuff and taking out some boxes which were unimportant. At this point station Manager, GK Singh would come to that passenger and threatened him that his baggage will not be scanned again if he doesn’t pack the bag within 5 minutes? Dude, again arrogance .why? Can’t you be nice to a passenger? And when my turns come, I was well prepared what I need to do. When Mr Aman weighed my baggage, it was 1.5 KG extra weight.Mr Aman quoted me INR 2400 for the extra weight. I asked him to weight and took out 2 boxes of sweets which I was taking to the US for my friends. I gave those sweets to other airport staff. After that my baggage was under 15 KG.


While I was arranging my stuff, again Station Manager Mr. GK Singh came to me and threatened that within 5 minutes I need to complete check-in otherwise they will close the door. Somehow I packed all my stuff and was able to get inside the flight just 5 minutes before. Though I have reached the airport 1 hour before and there were passengers who came after me but were able to get inside the flight before me.


This was a really horrible experience and would regret taking Spice jet flight from Gorakhpur airport. Spice Jet, you need to really train your Gorakhpur Airport staff, make them to visit at other airports and show them how nicely other airlines staff behave at all other airports.


I think this problem is only with Gorakhpur Airport as its being a new airport with fewer flights, staff is in the typical mindset of like typical Government office staffs Spice jet, if you think because there are not enough competitors, you can act and behave the way you want. Then don’t worry, customers have thrown many many renowned companies out of business because of their unfriendly customer policies
