So it happens that I booked a flight from Bangalore to Vishakhapatnam a month in advance. Things seemed fine till I got a message two weeks later saying that the flight has been cancelled due to Operational Reasons. When I called up the customer care, the nice gent there put me on a separate flight via Hyderabad. I had to cancel the train ticket and book another but I thought as long as I am reaching Vizag it shouldnt matter.
A week before the journey comes another message saying that my Hyderabad to Vizag flight has been cancelled and that I have been rescheduled on a morning 07:15 flight. Knowing that my start point was Bangalore and that the Bangalore to Hyderabad flight was scheduled at 12:30, I wonder what sense was used to put me on an early morning flight from Hyderabad.
Anyway, another call to the helpline put me through to a nice lady who in a gradually rising voice told me that the flight has been cancelled due to "Operational Reasons". Quite naturally, I requested her to put me on a flight from Bangalore to Hyderabad so that I can take the connecting flight but she declared there was none. A late flight from Hyderabad to Vizag wasnt on offer either. At one point the said lady remonstrated "We are giving you a full refund, what is your problem?".
Well, madam, none actually. I would make sure I do not give you an opportunity to grant me a "full refund" in the future. Thanks spice jet for rescheduling my flight twice within a month and ultimately cancelling it. I hope we do not have to do any business in the future. Adios.
