After a wait of two years finally the webby master is back and this time it?s a better-packaged deal. The second part in the Spider Man series takes you behind the mask and shows you what is the real life of a super hero when he isn?t fighting crime and flying around in air.
Its about all the problems faced by the person as PETER Parker. Whether it?s his job, his bankruptcy or his love life. He may be the ?loved by all guy? when the mask is on but when its off, he is a ordinary person like anyone of us.
It also shows the sacrifices the person has got to make in return to the gift he is been given, risking his life and love for keeping the society clean. The decisions may not be easy but when you have been given a responsibility it comes foremost.
Besides this there is lots more to it. There is a scientist whose discovery gets screwed and turns him into the bad guy (so clichéd), there are some fat scientific terms and understandings (most of which went above my head), there is the guy who played football on the moon, an old aunt and there is the rich, spoilt brat who lays the foundation for the next movie of the webby .
The real die hard action fans may not be too satisfied with the movie but I felt that the scenes lacked quantity but had quality. The fight sequences between S-man and doc oc were amazing. The train sequence did go a bit long but managed to keep people glued to their seats.
The actors did a wonderful job including the Asian guy at the pizza parlor. The leading characters from Tobey Maguire to Kirsten Dunst to Alfred Molina were fantastic. But the person who really stole the show was the head of the newspaper whose ?khoon choosna? abilities were well portrayed by the actor.
Also mentionable was the performance by the Aunt (Rosemary Harris), portraying an old lady with her own set of problems.
The review would be incomplete if we dont mention the superb direction by Sam Raimi whose turned a comic hero into a superstar.
Also a must mention is the way the cast was shown.Quite impressive it was.
On the whole the movie is a perfect blend of action and drama with hints of comedy and lots more in small doses. If you were disappointed with the first part, dont stay back as this movie is a lot better than the first part but if you are still not satisfied no problem as you can wait for two more years for the third part and hope it turns out better.
Or if you are lucky you may get to watch our local Pavitr Prabhakar a bit earlier.
