*Now this is a show I quite feel strongly being part of generation X ( im 28 ysrs old so I do qualify ) but but unlike others I prefer to take a fair view of the show let me present before you the pros and the cons of the show . let me bring out the nuances .
PLOT : Grp of guys and girls attempt to fall in love in a controlled environment there is a king and a queen and subjects who attempt to strike a " connexion " with the king or queen or topple them take ur pick .tasks galore . Gotta impress the Queen .Gals gotta hook the king one couple survives . get to play host on MTv
1SLICK presentation : Now this is where I have to give credit to Raghu the one man phenomenon of MTV
Splits villa is slick , pacy , is full of surprises thereby gluing the youth to their seats or couches as you prefer it . ok due credit given to Mr raghu . uve got our attention and managed to retain it .in the era of numb soaps this show rocks and quite literally socks it to you
2 Young participants : Granted the nation seems to be fixated around youth . so the shows centres around youth . here is one more USP call it the unique selling point or unique success point is up to you
Now this is that part of the show which I feel I need to talk about
now whenever the creators of the show were asked about the content of the show They had one simple answer "we are merely showing you a mirror" " OR "oh thats how the indian youth of today is "
so on and so forth ................................Now I am a pretty open minded individual who believes in gender equality and equal opppurtunity but if we are made to beleive that we actually are abusive and love to get into multiple relationships and love to trample all over someone for a assured sum of money well I guess its time for some deep soul digging
let me clarify I am all for competitive shows let the best man or woman win but if being cool mandatorily means u have to be abusive, have to get into multiple relationships then I dont buy that
grantedits a show its only a show people argue but lets not forget its a show that millions of youth are tuned into I still like the concept of roadies the tasks and all but some how splitsvilla ? I dont buy that . but why do we have to get stereotyped? its almost like if u have to be cool well be abusive to heck with everything else .Being cool means having the right attitude, defend ur space and give your partner space to pursue their goals . If u want to be cool there are action sports or extreme sports to pursue or music.
*im 28 love rock , am open hate conservative thought respect women give my friends space does that qualify me as cool ? Reality Check guys im just a geek . u wanna look at cool SP gives you a step by step manual on how to be cool !!!
we need slick shows definetly need more youth oriented shows but please lets not stereotype ourselves The indian youth can be cooler than their american counterparts There are umpteen ways to be cool people .. So lets not ape the west.
Voice these thoughts and some people say ohh the people who criticise this show are losers they proba dint get to hang out with the girls given an oppurtunity
trust me I dont have any issues with the show I like the thought behind it youth shows totally rock .......do but lets not actaully get into the typical stereotype of the COOL teen shall we ....
