The crown jewel of the ESPN network.
Any serious sports fan (or casual, for
that matter) has to have a daily dose
of Sportscenter.
If you need scores, stats, in-depth
features of most of the major sports,
this is the place to go. The hosts
are some of the most professional
anchors in TV sports.
They present their stories and recaps
plus seem to actually enjoy doing it.
This is obvious to us, the viewers
and makes watching the broadcast a
much more enjoyable experience.
My personal favorite is Chris Berman. He
is enthusiastic and is famous for making
up (or changing) the athletes names as he
gives us the news. Sometimes silly, but
always entertaining.
Sportscenter presents a complete
rundown of MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, WNBA,
LPGA, Tennis, NASCAR, CART among the
professional sports. They also feature
plenty college hoops, baseball, football,
etc.
When pertinent, World Cup Soccer, World
Cup Skiing and the Tour de France also
get far more coverage than the average
sports station gives.
They are also an excellent source of
womens sports information.
Some of the other events covered here
are Figure Skating, Dog Shows, Fishing
segments, Snowmobiling and even some of
the extreme sports.
Ive found Sportscenter to be completely
informative, entertaining and relevant
to the sports fan in general. Im hooked
and have withdrawal symptoms if I dont
tune in at least once daily !
So, whether you are a certified
sports nut (like me) or just a
casual fan, ESPNs Sportscenter is
well worth a watch but be careful,
you could get hooked too !
