I had Verizon Wireless in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I like the network quality (good reception). I switched to Sprint because its Family Plan was more economical. I expected to have more dropped calls with Sprint compared to Verizon, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Sprints reception is as good as Verizon. I drive on 101 between San Mateo and Sunnyvale, and my call would drop once near Redwood City. This dropped call happens for Sprint as well as for Verizon. I make a call while Im driving on the San Mateo bridge, and my call would drop at certain parts on the bridge. This happens with both service providers. I can call and receive call while Im walking inside a building or in Hillsdale Mall. Once in a while, I cant get any reception in certain buildings. I also cant make a call while Im inside an elevator. So overall, the reception and the network quality of Sprint and Verizon are very good.
I find Sprints plan is cheaper than Verizon. Thats why I switched to Sprint. I never had billing problems or customer service problem with Verizon. I can always go to a Verizon Wireless center and ask for help if I needed help, but I never did. I never had customer service problem with Sprint. I can always go to a Sprint PCS center and ask for help if I needed help. One time I had to trade in my Sprint phone because the phone stopped working. It was dropped once too often. Since the phone was still under the warranty period, Sprint replaced it with the same model at no charge. I did have a billing problem. I have a family plan with Sprint, and we have 4 phones on the plan. I was charged with a large amount of minutes from Sprint. None of our family members made any calls to or from Los Angeles, and I was charged with a large amount of minutes from LA. I did not try to resolve the discrepancy in this bill within 30 days because I was busy. Basically, Sprint said that they can not change the bill after 30 days have passed. Im upset and thats why Im shopping for another cellular service provider.
I have a question unrelated to this review. How come this website does not provide review options for other cellular service providers such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and Metro PCS?
