I find it nostalgic writing about sri padmanabha theatre. Located in the heart of the city straight opposite to the famous padmanabha swami temple and next to one of the busiest street in Trivandrum, the theatre plays host to most of the mollywood and bollywood releases. It part of the five theatres started by veteran director-producer Merryland P. Subramaniam. The twin complex of
Sreekumar-Sreevisakh, Sree Padmanabha, New Theatre and erstwhile Karthikeya at Pettah, were formed as an extension of their business interests in the industry.
Been there quite a lot of time and enjoyed lot of movies. The seating capacity is quite with 250 plus seats and very good balcony view. Yes the leg is little less but enough to manage without stepping on others.
The sound quality is very good with digital surround and Dolby systems in place. A good sound effect movie can very well be enjoyed, with even the low notes very crisp and clear. The air conditioning is good. One problem is that(its there in all theatres) smoker dont have a separate area and the hall area outside the viewing area is small; so feel dingy, smell with cigarette smoke and crowded.
Another issue is the parking. Used to be nightmare when we used to go. Nowadays I heard the gandhi park in front of the theatre takes care of the parking.
All this is some five six year back story but I believe and I know they would take care of this theatre very much.
