My wife who is an employee of Oriental Insurance Company Ltd., experienced little chest pain complaint and wanted to admit in this hospital because of the close proximity to my residence. The concerned staff directed us to go to Billing department/Insurance claims section to verify the credentials. Despite producing ID cards of the employer, TPA insurance Authority initially they refused admission.
I told them its not a general policy, she took it under Corporate Employee but the staff didnt know the meaning of Corporate and the difference between Corporate and the general public. They referred the case to TPA and on getting approval for RS.30000/- only she was admitted in hospital after a lapse of half a day. " In case if it was an emergency case and person who didnt have money in their possession they wouldve to be thrown to dogs in this Hospital".
Consequent to admission on 16/01/2019 some investigations were required to be done as per the respective Specialist doctors. The major Crux of the problem was the Cardiac Specialist doctor visited her very late on the day of admission around 11 pm in the night but by the time she was fell asleep and he turned away.
Usually, in this Hospital the specialist doctors would be visiting the wards and rooms after 10 or around 11 pm only. They didnt even bother not to disturb the patients at that late hours. However, with constant follow up the Cardiologist came on 19/01/2019 afternoon and said there was absolutely no complaint to her heart. Just to know this we have to spend three days in the hospital. Further, the staff working in Billing/ Insurance section are particular about reimbursement as it was evident from them until the TPA replied them about the sanction of claim they didnt discharge the patient and made her wait another half day today.
They are very rude in their behavior and no courtesy even though they have all the important details about the patient. They only know how to mint money from patients who walk into the hospital. Except for OP the specialist doctors dont bother to visit the patient at convenient hours. They should desist this practice of visiting the in patients only after their usual outside/own OP is over.
The hospital authorities should exhibit a notice stating that "PATIENTS WILL ONLY BE DISCHARGED AFTER THEIR CLAIMS ARE SANCTIONED BY THIRD PARTY AUTHORITY DESPITE THE PATIENT OWN A CASHLESS POLICY FROM INSURANCE AUTHORITY
